Manufacturing Support Technician – KYOCERA SGS Precision Tools

Kyocera SGS Precision Tools is a leading manufacturer of solid carbide cutting tools, renowned for designing high-performance solutions for machining challenging materials such as stainless steel and titanium. We support industries such as aerospace, medical, power generation, and motorsports by solving complex manufacturing challenges and improving process efficiency.

We’re now entering an exciting phase of growth, relocating to the Midlands to unite Kyocera SGS and Kyocera Unimerco Tooling under one roof; forming Kyocera’s largest carbide tooling site in Europe. As part of this expansion, we’re looking for a Manufacturing Support Technician to join our team.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Support Technician, you’ll play a key part in supporting our production operations;  ensuring our manufacturing processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You’ll carry out a range of support functions and will also be involved in machine setup and operation, inspection, and process monitoring, helping to maintain the high standards of quality Kyocera SGS is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out manufacturing support and heat treatment operations to meet quality and delivery targets
  • Set and operate manual grinding, EDM, and edge hone machines
  • Perform wheel dressing, measuring, and balancing tasks
  • Support coating and finishing operations, including booking in regrind and incoming work
  • Complete all associated paperwork and system transactions accurately

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
  • Time-served apprenticeship desirable, or equivalent practical experience
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science desirable
  • Familiarity with ERP systems an advantage
  • A positive, proactive attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills

Initial training will take place at our Wokingham site for approximately 2–3 months, with all accommodation and travel expenses covered by the company. Following this period, the role will be permanently based at our new facility in Fradley, Staffordshire.

38-hour working week, single shift
